Ulthera or Ultherapy is a treatment method based on triggering collagen production by using ‘focused sound waves’, which can reach 3 mm deep into the skin and 4.5-5 mm deep tissues that other non-surgical methods such as monopolar radiofrequency, bipolar radiofrequency and lasers cannot reach.
It is a ‘focused ultrasound’ device used together with Ulthera imaging ultrasound, which can affect the connective tissue by focusing 5 mm down without damaging the skin. It creates heat damage that contracts, renews and stretches the subdermal layer with the shots, it sends by seeing the subcutaneous tissue. We call this application non-surgical facial aesthetics, which is performed by creating small healing chambers under the skin.
During the operation, the subcutaneous tissues are triggered like a sewing machine. Laxiting, softening, sagging caused by time and gravity in the skin and subcutaneous tissues are treated by the Ulthera which is a non-surgical skin tightening or cheek lift method. After a 30-60 minutes session with Ulthera, which varies according to the operation area, the result is achieved by strengthening and triggering the skin and subcutaneous connective tissue.
With Ulthera, it is now possible to treat wrinkles with newly produced 1.5 mm heads. Ulthera wrinkle treatment, unlike all other laser treatments, does not cause rashes or peeling on the skin. With Ulthera, wrinkles around the eyes, around the lips and mouth, on the neck, on the cheeks can be treated differently from the classical Ulthera procedure.
How is Ulthera Applied?
In the application of Ulthera which means non-surgical face lift and cheek aesthetics, the ultrasound head called a transducer is touched to the skin and the skin and subcutaneous tissue are displayed on the monitor of the device. In this way, an operation is made by seeing completely. Then, with the same head, the skin is triggered positively by thermal heat foci focused 4.5 mm and 3 mm below the skin. During this process, the skin surface is not adversely affected by the operation.
During the Ultherapy procedure, the subcutaneous tissues are seen on the screen so that they can only be seen during the surgery. Through the energy reaching the skin, stimulation increases, subcutaneous tissues begin to renew themselves and new collagen formation is achieved. A strong tightening effect occurs, resulting in a non-surgical face lift effect over time.
How Many Sessions of Ulthera Non-Surgical Face Lift?
Ulthera procedure is only done in one session.
In Which Areas Is Ulthera Applied?
Ulthera, for non-surgical facelift purposes, is applied to the cheeks and mid-face, to the neck and jawline for sagging, to jawline for forming, to the eyebrow-forehead area for brow lifting, to the eyelids for reducing surplus skin, to the decollete area for correction of wrinkles.
How Long Does Ulthera Procedure Take?
Ultherapy procedure takes between 30-60 minutes depending on the operation area. It takes about 1 hour when applied to the entire face.
What is Felt During the Procedure?
Although what is felt during Ultherpy application differs from person to person, patients describe the pain they feel as instant “pins and needles”. I tell my patients that during this procedure, the subcutaneous tissues are knitted like a net and scanned like a sewing machine.
Patients can easily tolerate this mild feeling of pain. This means that the focused sound wave energy reaches deep into the tissue and thus Ultherapy creates a lifting and tightening effect on the skin. Another feeling during the Ulthera operation is the warmth under the tissues.
Is Anesthesia Required in Ulthera?
Ulthera is a treatment that can be performed without any anesthesia. If the patient hesitates, anesthesia may be considered. Topical local anesthetic creams such as emla in cream style do not show any benefit in deep classical ulthera procedure. Creamy application is mostly applied during wrinkle treatment.
Local anesthesia can be applied in some areas for very sensitive people. Some patients may request light sleep and sedation-style applications.
What to Expect After the Procedure?
After the process in the Ultherapy center, the person can return to her/his daily activities immediately. There is no condition that needs attention. After Ulthera, no reaction such as burns, spots, bruising etc. occurs on the skin. Although some people may experience a very slight rashes after the application, this situation returns to normal after a few hours.
Therefore, you do not have to hide after this application. A slight result is obtained immediately afterwards.
What is the Difference of Ulthera from Other Non-Surgical Face Lift Procedures?
Ulthera is the only skin tightening, non-surgical face lift method that uses focused sound wave technology. It is possible to achieve effective and satisfactory results with a single application on the skin. Ulthera is the only device that can repair not only superficial but also deep tissues. It is very important to see the subcutaneous tissues during the application. Because it provides the opportunity to shoot by seeing the carrier layer that we want to create a heat effect and plan the treatment. It is not possible to achieve this in any laser or application.
The purpose of the application is to minimize and constrict the surgically removed tissues from the outside in an early step, non-surgically, and to tighten and renew the skin by producing new collagen with the effect of the damage.
Is Ultherapy a Safe Method?
Ultrasound energy has been used in medicine for more than 50 years and has proven in clinical trials without any side-effects. Ulthera is an US FDA approved device. There are no known significant side-effects.
As in every medical practice, your doctor will make the necessary explanations on the subject. Ulthera can also be combined with aesthetic fillers, botox and other medical aesthetic procedures.
When Will Results Appear After Ulthera Procedure?
After a single Ulthera application, the regeneration process starts immediately, a slight lifting effect is seen even at the first moment. This is particularly evident in the jawline and neck. However, the time for the desired result to appear is after 90 days. After 6 months, the full result will be obtained. The skin starts to look better every day after the application. After 1 week, your skin will feel better, after 1 month, the effects will be visible, after 3 months, the result will begin to be observed, and after 6 months, it will be the best.
How long does the Ulthera Application Last?
After the Ulthera application, the result will continue for an average of 2 years. Then you will be back to your old self. This process is a slow one. There is no such thing as being worse than before. Unlike, your aging will be stopped for 6 months when regeneration takes place.
Who are Eligible Candidates for Ulthera Procedure?
Anyone has laxity or saggy skin is suitable candidates for Ulthera. Especially between the ages of 40-65, significant results are obtained as the skin structure loosens. Again, young age and early age for facelift surgery are good indications for Ulthera. Sometimes patients may not desire to have surgery and may be afraid of complications and anesthesia. This is a good indication for ulthera.
What are Ulthera Session Prices?
Ulthera session fee 2022 price varies according to the area and the number of application shots. In our center, the application is made with a multi-shot protocol. This is very important for good results. Ulthera session price can be applied to the entire face and neck as a whole, or it can be applied in the specific area. The price of this case is of course lower than the whole application. For this, you need to be examined by your doctor.
